RN-Vision STS has fixed the first crew for the new ADAC GT4 Germany series. The German-Italian duo Marius Zug and Gabriele Piana will drive the first BMW M4 GT4 of the german team. The duo was revealed today at the Motorshow in Essen.
Gabriele Piana will enter his fourth season with the German GT4 team in 2019. In 2018, the Italian won the 24 Hours of Dubai and in addition to victories in the VLN and Blancpain Endurance, he also clinched a GT4 European Series victory in Misano together with his last year’s team partner Razvan Umbrarescu on one of the 3 BMWs from RN-Vision STS.
Marius Zug joins the new GT4 series from the kartsport programme of the ADAC Stiftung Sport. The 15-year-old Resident from Pfaffenhofen started karting in 2012 and won the OK Junior class in the ADAC Kart Masters in 2017. He has also been successful in many other kart series. With the ADAC GT4 Germany, the young pilot is starting his first GT season in 2019. After several tests with various vehicles and teams, his final choice were the RN Vision STS team and the BMW M4 GT4.
Marius Zug: „I think that with Gabriele I have a good instructor with whom I can improve step by step and familiarise myself with GT racing. I assume that it will be a good first training year and that we can achieve our first successes with the BMW M4 GT4“.
Gabriele Piana: „It will be an exciting season in the new series. I would like to thank Marius and his father for the chance to mentor him. My priority is to help him find a good start in GT racing and I hope that we can gain our first podiums or wins in 2019“.
The duo is scheduled to already complete the first tests at Portimao on the Portuguese Algave coast in December.
